Milan, 11 July 2013 – Maire Tecnimont S.p.A. announces that several contracts and variations have been awarded to its subsidiaries for a total amount of approximately €137 million for engineering services, licensing and technology packages. New contracts in the core business (oil, gas & petrochemicals) have been awarded mainly in Middle East, Central and North America and Russia.
In particular, in Mexico Maire Tecnimont Group, through its subsidiary KT Kinetics Technology S.p.A. (“KT”), joined with the Industrial Spanish division of Obrascón Huarte Lain (“OHL”) and the Mexican Costrucciones Industriales TAPIA will realize for the Client PEMEX Refinacion a new Hydrogen Production Unit on a lump sum turnkey basis in Cadereyta Refinery.The contract has been awarded to a Special Purpose Company – of which KT owns a share of 40% – that will be incorporated in Mexico. Total value of the contract is approximately USD72 million (about €56 million), of which about €22 million pertaining to Maire Tecnimont Group, and completion is expected by the third quarter of 2015. The project foresees the development of a new Hydrogen Unit of 25,000 Nm3/h capacity and the termination of the relative gas pipeline. By means of this award Maire Tecnimont Group starts to cooperate with the new client PEMEX, one of the largest Latin American players in Oil & Gas. The acquisition consolidates KT’s track record in Hydrogen Units in lump sum turn key and enables the company to contribute to PEMEX’s new modernization plan of its refineries.
Moreover, in Brazil Maire Tecnimont Group, through its main subsidiary Tecnimont S.p.A., is entered into a MOU with the primary Brazilian players Costrucões e Comercio Camargo Correa S/A, UTC Engenharia S.A., Construtora OAS S.A. and Construtora Norberto Odebrecht S.A., Brazilian major player in plant industry, in order to combine their expertise and jointly participate to the international tender issued by PETROBRAS concerning Nitrogen Fertilizer Unit V Project, for the implementation of an Ammonia plant, its Accessories and Off-fence works.
