Rome, 10 July 2026 – Fondazione MAIRE – ETS, Fondazione Green Innovation and the Islamic Cultural Centre of Italy – Grand Mosque of Rome have signed a collaboration agreement to promote guidance, training and awareness-raising initiatives on the energy and ecological transition, with the aim of offering younger generations new opportunities for social inclusion and access to employment.
The agreement stems from a shared commitment to accompany young people, together with their families, in discovering the skills and professional profiles linked to sustainability and the energy transition. Through information activities, meetings and dedicated programmes, the collaboration aims to help broaden awareness of the educational and professional opportunities offered by the new green value chains, generating social impact locally and facilitating young people’s access to professions related to sustainable development.
Fondazione MAIRE – ETS will provide trainers, educational content and guidance activities for students of different age groups, in line with its commitment to developing the human and cultural potential of younger generations and to combating educational poverty and school dropout.
Fondazione Green Innovation, established through a partnership between MAIRE S.p.A., Acea S.p.A., Kuwait Petroleum Italia S.p.A., Orange Branded S.r.l.; I.I.S. “Piazza della Resistenza, 1” Monterotondo (Rome) and I.I.S. “Via di Saponara 150” Rome; Università Campus Bio-Medico di Roma; Unindustria Perform S.r.l. and Associazione CNOS-FAP Lazio, is in the process of being accredited as an ITS Academy by the Lazio Region. The Foundation will contribute to developing information activities and guidance sessions for young graduates from the community on the energy transition and on the professional opportunities offered by the ITS Academy system in this field, with particular reference to the programmes currently being activated, in line with the needs of local businesses.
The Islamic Cultural Centre of Italy – Grand Mosque of Rome, the only Islamic institution officially recognised by the Italian State, will support the involvement of the community and families through its spaces and communication channels.
“National and international studies we conduct show that the sector increasingly requires trained professionals capable of addressing the challenges of climate change. Through this agreement, we aim to raise awareness among young people of the professional opportunities offered by the energy transition, within an inclusive and multicultural pathway that starts from listening to communities and involving families,” said Ilaria Catastini, General Manager of Fondazione MAIRE.
“Fondazione Green Innovation is ready to contribute to building a bridge between schools and businesses, training today the new professionals needed to accelerate decarbonisation. Only through an intercultural approach can we enable young people to become active protagonists of change, encouraging their innovative attitudes,” said Carlo Nicolais, General Manager of Fondazione Green Innovation.
“With the ratification of this collaboration agreement, we continue our decades-long journey of dialogue with institutions in the fields of education and employment, inspired by the spirit of service to the community that has always guided us. We are aware that our commitment to young people cannot remain merely a declaration of intent, but must have practical effects in reality, helping support their integration into society and building a future aimed also at the common good. The young people of our community are fully part of this society, and we are committed to supporting their fulfilment,” said Abdellah Redouane, Secretary General of the Islamic Cultural Centre of Italy – Grand Mosque of Rome.
