Milan, 30 September 2026 – MAIRE (MAIRE.MI) announces that Nextchem, through its nitrogen technology licensor Stamicarbon, has been selected by a prominent international player for a new 3,150 metric tons per day (MTPD) urea plant in China. Stamicarbon’s scope covers the technology license, Process Design Package and proprietary equipment supply.

The project will be based on NX STAMI™ Urea, Nextchem’s proprietary technology for urea production, and will adopt the Ultra-Low Energy (ULE) design to enhance energy efficiency and operational performance. Part of the proprietary NX STAMI™ Urea series, ULE design enables a 35% reduction in steam consumption and a 16% decrease in cooling water usage compared with conventional methods, leveraging innovative high-pressure steam utilization and advanced pool reactor design.
