Milan, 14 March 2019 – With reference to the information relating to the ongoing investigations on the Punta Catalina power plant project in Santo Domingo, published in the press, Maire Tecnimont confirms its determination to provide maximum collaboration with the Italian Investigating Authorities, and reaffirms its non-involvement in the facts subject of the investigations and its confidence in the prompt positive conclusion of the same.

Maire Tecnimont also states that in the abovementioned Punta Catalina contract, its subsidiary Tecnimont provided exclusively Engineering and Procurement services for the power block and its assistance to the start-up of the power plant as part of an EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) project, carried out by a consortium whose authorized representative is the Brazilian company Odebrecht which, as such, has negotiated and signed the relevant contract and has always had autonomous relations with the client CDEEE, all in exclusive basis, including the entire phase of the commercial negotiations.

It is believed that the investigation by the Milan prosecutor's office, originated from the complaint of the RE:Common NGO (mentioned by the press), is a due act by the investigating authorities that will make possible to demonstrate to the same authorities Tecnimont’s non-involvement with respect to any wrongdoing; such non-involvement, moreover, has already been ascertained by the Brazilian and Dominican investigative authorities, who have concluded not to involve, in any way, the Company and its managers in their investigations that, on the contrary, led to the acknowledgement of Odebrecht’s responsibilities in relation to certain contracts executed by them in Latin America.
